H. J. Res. 37 -Disapproving the rule submitted by the Department of Defense, the General Services Administration, and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration relating to the Federal Acquisition Regulation

Virginia Foxx (Republican – North Carolina) introduced House Joint Resolution 37 to nullify the rule submitted by the Department of Defense (DoD), General Services Administration (GSA), and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) relating to the Federal Acquisition Regulation.

BILL STATUS

The Joint Resolution  was introduced on January 30, 2017 to the House of Representatives and was passed by a vote of 236-187 on February 2, 2017.

SUMMARY OF NULLIFIED RULE (81 Fed. Reg. 58562)

The DOD, GSA, and NASA issued a final rule amending the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) to implement Executive Order 13673, which is designed to increase efficiency and cost savings in Federal contracting by improving contractor compliance with labor laws.The text of the rule is located here: 81 Fed.
