Stephen Knight (Republican – California) introduced H.R. 2333 to amend the Small Business Investment Act of 1958 to increase the maximum amount of outstanding buying power (leverage) made available to any licensed small business investment company from $150 million to $175 million.
The bill was introduced on May 3, 2017 and sent to the House Small Business Committee. The bill was brought before the house on July 24, 2017 and passed with a voice vote. The bill was sent to the Senate on July 24, 2017.
The bill amends the Small Business Investment Act of 158 by striking $150,000,000 and inserting $175,000,000 in Section 303(b)(2)(A)(ii). This increases borrowing power made available to small business investment firms.
